Script/Lyrics
Maybe I don't mind just getting high in mine
Shouting over music with a friend who's like a brother
Because if I get time I'd just regret most shit
From every hangover my head feels
To every ex I didn't treat right
To every Monday I called in sick
To every argument I let slide
Christ, I ain't ever going back to thinking straight
Twice! Twice, it brung me down but it's the last time
Maybe I'll grow tired of you bitchin' all the time
Cause when you love the way you're living it gets hard to fret about much
Because if I get time I'd just regret most shit
From every hangover my head feels
To every ex I didn't treat right
To every Monday I called in sick
To every argument I let slide
Christ, I ain't ever going back to thinking straight
Twice! Twice, it brung me down but it's the last time
Christ, I ain't ever going back to thinking straight
Twice! Twice, it brung me down but it's the last time
From every hangover my head feels
To every ex I didn't treat right
To every Monday I called in sick
To every argument I let slide
Christ, I ain't ever going back to thinking straight
Twice (yeah, twice)! Twice, it brung me down but it's the last time

Twice - Catifish and the Bottleman
Setting:
House, field/park.
Props:
Balloons, sparklers, cups, phone, clothes, a stereo, makeup.
Plot:
The video opens with a wide angle establishing shot showing two girls sat on a bed on their phones, they will be dressed in casual clothes, jeans and a t-shirt, there is no sound apart from the tapping of their key boards on their phones. This diegetic sound will be filmed on a sound boom and added in the editing process. After 10 seconds one of their phones will sound as they receive a message “Party tonight”, the message will flash up onto the screen whilst the girls reaction to the message is being filmed in a mid close up. The next part of the video shows the two girls trying to find an outfit for the party, they are lip syncing to the song, dancing around the room and messing about. Close ups of clothes flying around the room and building up in piles on the floor, as well as over the shoulder shots of the girls looking in the mirror. There are jump shots which alternatively cut between the two girls singing and them applying makeup, trying on clothes etc. When the chorus of the song starts a jump cut occurs which shows a pan down of the two girls walking up to the party, there backs towards the camera with the house in focus. A close up of them pressing the doorbell. The door opens as they are greeted by a friend who is very excited. A jump cut shows different people within the party, the shots will include silhouettes of couples in the hallway kissing, groups of people playing drinking games, outside smoking, people inside dancing. While we will be filming the footage on a camera with a tripod we will also be allowing the cast to film from their phones, using snapchat, so that we can edit the use of filters and vlogging techniques into the music video. Throughout the party section different people are focused on, those that are more confident, and those which may be feeling pressured in the party situation. Towards the end of the song the party leads outside to a park, everyone plays with sparklers, spelling out words, dancing around with them. There will be a few people playing on the park, showing the fun childish side of youth. The music video ends with a wide angle shot of the friends lying around on the floor staring up at the stars. A shot reverse shot will be used to show the friends laying on the ground and the view of the stars from their opinion. The screen will fade to black and the end credits such as cast, production team and audio source will roll across the screen.

Timed Analyses
The 1975 - Robbers
0:00 - 0:14 - the camera follows Matt Healy and a girl as they walk down the street. The way that these two people are the first thing we see suggests that they are the main focus of this video. We also see the band name and song title and the name of the director flash up on the screen as credits.
0:14 - 0:20 - the scene cuts quickly to the pair in a house - Matt Healy is standing on a table placing a cigarette in the girl's mouth. It then changes to show him smoking by the window. This tells us that smoking/drugs are a key element of this video.
0:20 - 0:25 - the video continues showing the pair in the house together, but at 0:20 and 0:24 we see flashed of them walking towards a petrol station. This could be a flashback or a glimpse of the future.
0:31 - 0:38 - this scene takes place at a skate park and shows the two people from before hanging around with other people. It also shows Matt Healy skateboarding. There is a jump shot to the girl smoking, when Matt comes over and she lets him take a drag. It is a calm atmosphere and makes you feel that this video will be tranquil.
0:39 - 0:43 - we see Matt put a pill in his mouth, which brings this video into darker themes as before it just featured smoking whereas now we see the use of drugs. It shows this as a close up as it allows us to clearly see that he is taking a pill and is not doing something else. We the see him lay down on the ground next to the girl, resting his head on her lap as if he is crashing from the drug. Throughout this time, get quick cuts back to him smoking at the window, which only last for around a second each time.
0:44 - 1:02 - there are lots of jump shots during this time frame. It starts by showing the girl standing by the sink filled with washing up. It then switches back to Matt smoking by the window, but this time the shot pans around to show the girl in the background staring at him.
1:07 - 1:17 - the scene cuts back to Matt and the girl inside the house with Matt standing on the table. At a long-mid shot, we see him singing the song played in the video to the girl. The video cuts to him teaching the girl how to play guitar and then quickly cuts back to him singing to her. The fact that he is actually singing Robbers in the video allows us to know that he is the singer of the band.
1:18 - 1:20 - in these two seconds, the video becomes very fast paced. We see four different shots in this time frame as it is keeping with the beat of the song - each time the lyrics say 'stay' the shots switch from the pair walking towards the petrol station to Matt singing to the girl.
1:21 - 1:30 - the girl is stood in a gritty bathroom, lining up some cocaine. We then see her standing up after leaning over, signalling that she snorted the cocaine. We then see the girl walk out into a diner in midday, which shows how she may be addicted as she has taken it during her day-to-day life, in public.
1:32 - 1:37 - the girl then sits across from Matt Healy in a booth and slides him across a napkin. He goes to open it but then the scene sharply cuts away so we do not see what it says. This leaves the viewer intrigued as they want to find out what she has written on the napkin.
1:37 - 1:45 - we see Matt Healy singing to the girl again, but this time he leans down so that he is level with her and starts saying something to her (we don't hear what he says). The camera zooms in on the pair as they are about to kiss so that we solely focus on them and it cuts away before they meet.
1:45 - 1:47 - we see a girls hand - most likely the main character from the video - hold onto the wall as she walks through the door and then she lets go. When she moves her hand away there is a blood stain on the wall. This suggests that someone has been injured and leaves a feeling of panic in the viewer as they want to find out what happened.
1:47 - 1:58 - this scene shows the couple going to the cinema. The girl keeps trying to mess around and distract Matt, whilst he is getting visibly frustrated as he is trying to focus on the film. At 1:54, we see Matt dab his finger in something and then rub it on the girl's gums - this was most likely cocaine and so further represents her addiction to the drug.
1:59 - 2:07 - at this point, the video immediately turns darker as Matt Healy pulls out a cloth and unfolds it, presenting a gun. This can link back to 1:45 - when the girl leave a bloody hand print on the wall. The use of the gun as mise-en-scene brings violence to the video and so, with the use of the bloody hand print, it could suggest that somebody got shot. Matt then turns around and points it at the girl, which she clearly gets angry at.
2:07 - 2:10 - cut back to close up of Matt singing.
2:10 - 2:20 - various different angles of Matt Healy playing around with the gun, dancing around an abandoned, derelict building and drinking. This shows his reckless behaviour and also implies that he did not care that his girlfriend was upset about his behaviour.
2:20 - 2:23 - a close up of the girl's face- she has a worried expression and seems to be panicked as she looks around. We then see Matt in pain as he holds his neck.
2:23 - 2:25 - from a slightly above angle, we see Matt kneeling on the ground with his arms open, looking up at the sky in defeat. He then walks outside.
2:26 - 2:33 - Matt and the girl are both walking outside, very distant from each other.
2:34 - 2:40 - different shots of the couple hugging and kissing. This lets the audience know that the pair have made up and are reminded of their love for each other.
2:41 - 2:42 - long shot of Matt and the girl sat on a wall, staring into the distance. They are not moving or talking to each other, so appear to be thinking about something.
2:43 -2:49 - more shots of Matt and the girl in the house, Matt is singing to the girl. One clip show the couple kissing and Matt takes off the girls top.
2:50 - 2:55 - during this time frame, the video makes fast paced cuts between Matt and the girl to the rest of the band members sat in a van. In the snapshots of the couple, they are kissing between the bandana wrapped around Matt's face and in the distance we see a gas station. The clips of the band members in the van shows them to be panicked and nervous.
2:56 - 3:26 - Matt and the girl are walking quickly towards the gas station, before breaking out into a sprint and running inside. As they are running in, we see Matt pull out the gun. The music cuts out and there is silence whilst the camera stays at an establishing shot of the shop. Then, we hear a gunshot.
3:27 - 3:36 - the couple come running out of the gas station and Matt is clutching his waist. As the camera gets closer, we see blood pouring from his waist and from this we can gather that he was the one who was shot. There are multiple close ups and mid shots before we see the van pull up and him and the girl jump inside before it drives off.
3:37 - 3:42 - the camera is extremely shaky to add to the theme of panic and there are a lot of fast paced cuts in this time frame. We can see the people in the van rushing to help him, and at one point one of the people gives Matt a joint to pull from. This could be to relax him or try and ease the pain.
3:43 - 3:45 - there is a close up of the girl as she mimes the lyrics "you look so cool", presumably to Matt. This could perhaps be what is on Matts mind as he tries to distract himself from the pain.
3:36 - 3:50 - the van pulls up to the house and we see the girl helping Matt inside the house. We see the clip from 1:45 - 1:47, which confirms that it was Matt's blood on the girls hand.
3:51 - 3:58 - this frame has jump cuts between the group of people in the kitchen trying to help Matt and clips of Matt and the girl kissing/touching each other, which again could be Matts thoughts as he tries to think of things to take away the pain.
3:59 - 4:02 - the scene changes to just Matt and the girl in the bathroom as she is trying to clean his wound, and he is visibly in pain as we see close ups of his face as he leans away with a pained expression.
4:04 - 4:09 - there is a close up of Matt and the girl, who's faces are covered in blood. He places his hand on he face and they kiss, showing how true and raw their love is for each other.
4:10 - 4:19 - Matt empties out a bag and lots of money pours out of it, showing that they were successful in robbing the gas station. Throughout these fast paced shots, we see the group all playing out and they all appear very happy as a result of their success.
4:20 - 4:22 - the scene returns to the diner from 1:21 - 1:30 and we see the girl slide the napkin over to Matt. This time, we see him open it and it has "you look so cool" written on it - an iconic lyric from this song.
4:23 - 4:25 - here is an above shot of Matt as he is crouched on the floor of the abandoned building from 2:10 - 2:20 and he leans over, burying his head between his legs in a sign of defeat.
4:26 - 4:31 - the screen turns to black.
Peace - Lovesick
0:00 - 0:07 - there is a close up of a girl smoking a cigarette, which at first is slightly blurry but then there is a pull focus so that she is sharp. The bands name 'Peace' then flashes on screen in white text.
0:07 - 0:10 - here we see a high angle mid-close up of peoples feet as they walk through a dark room and there is an extremely strong vignette on the screen to make it appear like tunnel vision. The title of the song 'Lovesick' is written on the screen in white text.
0:11 - 0:15 - in this clip there is a close up of the back of the band's heads as they walk forward through a dimly lit corridor.
0:16 - 0:19 - long shot behind girl in the starting clip sat on a car bonnet, looking at a door which the band walks out of.
0:20 - 0:23 - focus on another girl, sat in the drivers seat of the car before there is a pull focus to a close up of the girl smoking.
0:24 - 0:25 - there is a close up of the band from the shoulders up, all stood in line. In the centre of the frame is a neon light of the peace logo.
0:26 - 0:28 - another close up of the girl, this time she blows smoke out of her mouth and nods her head backwards, as a signal for the band to get in the car.
0:29 - 0:31 - side profile shot of the band out of focus as they walk towards the car, the girl in the foreground and in focus, staring straight ahead as she continues to smoke.
0:32 - 0:35 - here is a low angle mid shot of the singer as he sings the lyrics. He appears to be hanging out of the sun roof of the car as it drives through a tunnel.
0:36 - 0:39 - there is a shot of someone getting in the car, and then a close up of the driver changing gears.
0:39 - 0:40 - returning shot to the singer on top of the car.
0:41 - 0:42 - close up of the speed-ometer in the car as it shows us how fast the car is going.
0:42 - 0:45 - long panning shot of the car as it quickly reverses and then spins around.
0:45 - 0:48 - close up of the singer in the back of the car singing the song, surrounded by the rest of the band as they are squeezed into the back seat.
0:49 - 0:52 - there is a cut to a long shot of what we saw before, this time from the car bonnet so we can also see the girls on the front of the car.
0:52 - 0:54 - the shot returns to the singer on top of the car. This time he is looking behind himself before he turns around, the wind blowing his hair in his face.
0:55 - 0:56 - returning shot from the bonnet of the car, showing the singer lip syncing.
0:57 - 0:58 - extreme long shot at a birds eye view of the car speeding into empty space as it spins around, remaining in the centre of the frame for the entirety of the shot.
0:59 - 1:00 - close up of the singer in the back of the car reciting the lyrics.
1:00 - 1:04 - a sequence of shots of the singer, all returning scenes of the people in the car and the singer on top of the car.
1:05 - 1:06 - here there is another shot of the car spinning around in the empty space. The car headlights seem to be the only source of light in this shot, which draws the viewers attention directly to the car.
1:07 - 1:10 - another sequence of shots of in the car and the singer on top of the car.
1:11 - 1:13 - the singer is standing out of the sun roof, but this time the car is out of the tunnel and the singer is not reciting the lyrics. The shot is in slow motion and the singer has his arms open. He is also shaking his head.
1:14 - 1:16 - again, there is a shot of the car spinning and a close up of the singer in the back of the car. This time, the car stops spinning and drives off towards the top of the screen.
1:17 - 1:18 - close up of the driver switching gears.
1:19 - 1:20 - long shot of the car speeding through a puddle at a low angle. The water from the puddle splashes against the camera and creates a blurred effect.

1:25 - 1:26 - mid shot of the people in the car, the singer continuing to recite the lyrics.

1:37 - 1:38 - the same shot, but this time the car is moving and everyone is inside it.
1:39 - 1:40 - extreme close up of the singer getting out of the car.
1:41 - 1:43 - again, return to the moving car and a close up of the singer.
1:44 - 1:45 - blurred, dark shot of the singer turning around and singing the song.
1:46 - 1:51 - more returning shots of the empty car, the people in the car and the singer on top of the car.
1:52 - 1:54 - a long shot of the band walking in the distance. This is shot through the car - the car is in the foreground and blurred whereas the band is in focus.
1:55 - 2:06 - here there is a combination of the main shots used where the singer is reciting the lyrics.
2:07 - 2:10 - there is a close up of the car as it drives off to the left of the screen. This reveals a long shot of the band as they sit in a line against a cement wall. The lighting here is very low key and it is difficult to make the band out.
2:11 - 2:12 - the screen turns to black.
Blossoms - Charlemagne
0:00 - 0:06 - white text appears on a black background reading "time is the only true purgatory - Samuel Butler 1835 - 1902". This text slowly gets larger as the time passes.
