Colour Treatment

The editing for the final video was split into three sections with three main colour schemes; orange, pink and blue. The use of these colours would resemble different scenes from the bedroom to the party and to the outdoor scenes.

For the indoor shoots I used a fast colour corrector to add an orange tint to the footage, the reason for this was to resemble the day time as the footage was actually shot later in the day. The use of a luma curve also enabled us to brighten up the shots. I put both these effects on the first clip and then copied and pasted them both to the following clips in order to keep consistency.

For the party shoots I used the fast colour corrector to add a pink filter to the shoots, this pink represented the fine side of youth and was fitting for the themes shown of teens having fun at a party. The luma curve was used to darken the scenes as they were originally shot in the day time.

The outside shoots provided a problem since the footage came out darker than anticipated, therefore I had to use the luma curve to brighten up shots. I also used the fast colour corrector to add a blue filter on top of these shots to contrast with the pink shots previously. This also symbolises the stereotypical side of youth which is more serious than the party scenes portrayed previously.
