Research for Shoots
The shoots for my ancillary task will be conducted whilst the music video is being filmed as my ideas for my ancillary task is to include snapshots from the music video. Therefore, the research for shoots for both the main task and ancillary task are the same and is all below.
Hair and Make-Up:
Both hair and make up during the first scene of the video will be simple - straight hair, minimal/natural make up. This is due to the fact that the scene will be casual and relaxed, so the characters would not have got dressed up or made any effort for this. This makes it as realistic as possible in terms of aesthetic.
After the 'getting ready' scene and during the party, the girls as well as the extras will have styled hair (for example, curly) and will have the make-up done. As this is a party, it would be an occasion to get dressed up and make an effort with appearances and so this is an aspect that we will include in the music video.
Costumes:
The clothes worn in the music video will be the character's own clothing that they would personally wear to a party. By having the actors bring their own party outfits, it will help create a realistic look as they will be representing exactly what a youth party look is. Some of these outfits will be dresses ('little black dress') or a nice top and jeans.
Props:
The props used in the music video will be typical items found in girls bedrooms and at parties as these are the scenes that will be shown in the video. These items will include phones, make up, red cups, drink bottles, balloons and cigarettes. We will also be using sparklers at the end of the video.
Location:
There will three locations in this music video. The first location will be in a girl's bedroom. This will represent the life of youth as this is a location where young people spend a lot of their time. It will be a relaxed setting and there will be high-key lighting as it will be during the day.
The second location will be a house whilst the party is happening. Both the living room and kitchen will be used and we may explore the bathroom. As this will be happening at nighttime, the lighting will be dark but there will be lights used to illuminate people and objects in the scene.
The last location will be at a playground nearby. By moving the party from one location to another, it will represent youth as adventurous and also rebellious as they are making noise and having a party in public.

Questionnaire Analysis
1. By asking my respondents age, I am able to find out the general age group of my audience. In this case, the majority were aged 17 - 20 and so my target audience will be young adults. This is helpful as my theme is youth and so my content will be relatable and realistic based on the feedback I received.
2. Again, this question allowed me to get an insight into my target audience - this time, in terms of gender. The respondents to this questionnaire were predominantly female and so my product will be aimed more towards this gender, however there were still quite a few males and so I will ensure that my digipak and advert are still suitable to them.
3. With this question, I used my two digipak designs that I had created to get an idea of the design I wanted. By creating two different designs and asking what people preferred, I was able to get an idea of what would be more popular and so give me guidance for my future designs.
4. I decided to ask the respondents what it was they liked about their chosen digipak. This would help me when I create my own final design as I know what elements about the digipaks people liked and what I should include in mine. However, I made a mistake with this question as I did not ask the respondents to specify which image they chose. I am able to assume with some of the responses - for example, 'the centralised font' - as the font is only centralised in one image. However there are some where it is not clear what image they are talking about, such as 'it looks cooler'. Even still, I feel that I am still able to use the feedback as it still lets me know what to include in my digipak.
5. I wanted to ensure that my digipak was not only themed to relate to the music video, but also to relate to the genre. However, I did not know if this was something that the audience would be looking for and so I decided to ask this question to find out. I was correct in thinking this was important as all but one respondents felt that the design should reflect the genre. As a result, I know to look into the conventions of my genre and ensure that my digipak shows this.
6. I felt that this was an important question to ask as it shows me what people think is the more appropriate image to suit the genre, rather than what image they prefer. The result, again, was that the first image was most popular. Therefore, I will be creating an image similar to this and that uses the same conventions for my design.
8. Again, this is something that I felt I should include in my digipak, however was unsure as to whether the audience also felt this way. I wanted my digipak to have a party/rebellion theme like the music video and the song, and the majority of my respondents felt that this was important. Therefore, I will definitely be ensuring that my digipak design relates to the song and music video.
9. Many digipaks come with additional items or products and I decide to see what people felt should be used out of the conventional items that are usually included. From this, I found that most people liked to receive a lyric booklet and a poster/video and song details and so I will aim to create one of these products alongside my digipak.
10. I felt that the font I used on my digipak would be very important to the overall aesthetic, and that it should match the image I use. For example, if I use a bold font then the image itself should be quite simple so that the font stands out further. The most popular answer was bold, but simple was not far behind so I will try and find a good balance of these two looks for my font.

Location Scouting
This is the kitchen within the house, for the shoot this will be where the party guests will be drinking, playing games and generally chatting.
This is the living room which will be the main focus area for our shoot, here will be the music and we will get shots of the guests partying.
The garden will not feature a lot within the shoot however if we for some reason cannot get onto the field for the last scenes as planned, we could utilise the garden instead.
- Location scouting was carried out by Mary Lawson.
